经历了接招（TakeThat）、辣妹（SpiceGirls）和男孩地带（Boyzone）等乐队的崛起和殒落后，英国乐坛马不停蹄地开始发掘新的流行偶像。A1、西城男孩（Westlife）、HearSay和舞曲流行三人组原子小猫纷纷加入排行榜和媒体之争。乐迷之所以喜欢原子小猫，主要是她们的经历与辣妹组合肥皂剧式的故事颇有相似之处。

1999年，原子小猫由OrchestralManoeuversintheDark的安迪·麦克拉斯基（AndyMcCluskey）组建，来自利物浦的娜塔莎·汉密尔顿（NatashaHamilton）、凯丽·柯塔娜（KerryKatona）和莉兹·麦克拉伦（LizMcLarnon）为实现自己的流行明星梦走到了一起，当年夏天她们与InnocentRecords公司签下合约时，还都是十几岁的青春少女。

原子小猫的《RightNow》和《SeeYa》一经发行立刻打入欧洲Top10排行榜，2001年冬，《WholeAgain》成功夺冠。她们在MTV上独领一时风骚，但是这样的成功并非一帆风顺。早在2000年9月，凯丽公开宣称自己与西城男孩成员布莱恩·麦克范登（BryanMcFaden）拍拖已有一年，而且珠胎暗结，不久两人正式订婚。柯塔娜不喜欢四处奔波，因此离开了组合，Precious的詹妮·弗洛斯特（JennyFrost）填补了她的空缺，此后《RightNow》为原子小猫赢得的赞誉让凯丽对自己的愚蠢之举后悔不迭。PS 13年正式回归组合取代Jenny Frost，

2001年的《TheTideIsHigh》让原子小猫的人气更加旺盛，十多首冠军单曲的成绩直逼TheSupremes和辣妹组合。2002年专辑《FeelsSoGood》中的《BeWithYou》和《TheLastGoodbye》两首单曲的成功，让原子小猫签下了维京公司。当舞曲《LoveDoesntHavetoHurt》在英国排行榜上如火如荼时，原子小猫又忙着录制同名的首张美国专辑，这张大碟发行于2003年4月。

原子少女猫（简称AK）是在出产世界超级巨星 披头士的利物浦，所组成的三人少女组。成员有Natasha、Kelly、Liz等三人。Kelly有着金色头发，Liz则有着一头短发， 三人都是相当有个性的女孩。

原子少女猫在正式出道前就跟随师姐Spice Girls相同的脚步，在日本积极的展开宣传活动。 让所有扶桑客对她们产生了兴趣。随后即回到英国发行首支单曲“Right Now”，初登场即跃进排行前十的位置。亲和、平易近人活泼俏皮且非常迷人可爱的E世代风格，更是在英国众多的知名杂志中被堂堂广泛地介绍出来。

原子少女猫起初由三个活泼可爱的小女生：Natasha（娜塔夏）、Liz（丽丝）、Kerry（凯莉）组成，因为Kerry怀了Westlife（西城男孩）团员Bryan的宝宝，被迫暂时退出团体，由新进团员Jenny替换重新组合的原子少女猫2001年再接再厉推出新专辑《Right Now 2001》。

所以说Kerry离开了，并没有自立门户，她好像和Bryan离婚了，有两个女儿。Jenny替代了Kelly。

在还未发专辑的情况下就获得了英国《Smash Hits》杂志最受欢迎艺人第12名，而以80年代的迪斯科舞曲伴奏间杂电音效果的首支《Right Now》更突显她们对音乐和潮流的敏锐感。

《Right Now 2001》除了收录2000年发行的《Atomic Kitten》中的9首单曲外，还加收《Follow Me》等5首全新作品，一发行即夺下英国专辑榜第一名。经过多场表演的磨练、歌唱技巧更趋成熟、她们成功地翻唱了Bangles（手镯合唱团）的畅销名作《Eternal Flame》，并连续两周夺下英国单曲金榜冠军，也终于稳坐头号接班女子团体的头名！
